The Western Ghat Mountain Ranges are the haven of several species of colorful butterflies.  Many are endemic and rare and are not seen elsewhere.  Hundreds of species of butterflies enjoy the warmth of the sun in the lush greenery and flash their gaudy colors in the pre-noon sun.  A little bit of patience can get you close to them to observe their beauty and study their life.
